The Furkapass is for the second time part of the route. This year you will climb it from the west side. You get breathtaking views to the Grimselpass road and the Bernese Alps. For those who start at the Grand Depard June 26th, it’s the last climb and a great downhill brings you down to the finish at Andermatt.

The registration will close in 2 days.

Coming down from San Bernardino pass, the route follows the Ticino river to it’s source at the top of Nufenenpass.Nufenen Pass is with 2478m the highest mountain pass with a paved road within Switzerland and the 10th highest paved road in the Alps. It was the last mountain pass road paved in Switzerland and opened September 1969. From the top you get spectacular views of the Bernese Alps, including the Finsteraarhorn and the Gries Glacier to the south.photos: Views from the top of Nufenenpass.

Because of much more snow in the Swiss mountains as usual this time of the year and still snowing at high altitude again, Sustenpass is now expected to be open June 25th. As a result of this, ITT will be possible from July 8th on.

The grand depard of the second edition of the Swiss Bike Adventure will be on June 26th at Andermatt.

After cycling 380km in the first 24h, Kai (2nd in the first NorthCape-Tarifa bicycle adventure) had some technical problems at day 2. Broken inner shifter cable in the August heat. 3th day folowed with several flats and then he came into several storms. Running out of time to make it back to work, Kai decided to finish the route another time. He cycled in the night in heavy rain over Furkapass, Grimselpass, Brünig to Luzern, from where he took the train back to Basel. That was an other impressive 320km over a view high mountain passes in one day.
