The Swiss BikeAdventure 2024 kicks off on July 27th in Andermatt. Some of the major mountain passes are still closed, but the final climb on the route, Gotthard Pass, opened last week, and there’s still plenty of snow! However, the famous Tremola with its 24 switchbacks is still covered in snow.
Last year, there was an exciting showdown on this climb between Aleš Vaníček and Bert Vohn. In the Tremola, Bert was only two switchbacks behind Aleš. While Bert couldn’t see Aleš, Aleš could see Bert from above. In the end, Bert arrived just 15 minutes after Aleš at the finish in Andermatt.
The beginning and end of the SBA take place in Andermatt, a perfect starting point for your ultracycling adventure.
Andermatt’s location in the heart of Switzerland makes it easily accessible from all directions. You can reach the starting point effortlessly, whether by train, car, or even bike. If you come from further away, the airports of Milano Malpensa and Zurich are connected by train.
We’re pleased that riders consistently opt for environmentally friendly transportation methods, contributing to a low-impact event.
