The 2024 Swiss-Bike Adventure was a great success, filled with smiling faces and happy riders. The final participant, Mlamed, arrived in Andermatt at noon today.

This year, we have a new record set on this specific course. Fabian Zanini from St. Moritz completed the 1,290 km journey, which includes 25,000 meters of climbing, in just 4 days and 6 hours. He beat Aleš Vaníček’s 2023 time by 10 hours and 14 minutes!

Fabio Zanini is over the Albulapass, and cycled 990km in 3 days and 6 hours. Fabio has another three big climbs in front and 280km left to the finish in Andermatt. Joris Bosch from Holland is second with 35km distance to Fabio. Followed by Christian Schalk from Germany and Cyril from Switzerland.

Simon Jenny and Sandro Büttel scratched. Jonny and Alex are since yesterday off route, no information from the two.

Fabio Zanini is leading the field 40km in front of Joris Bosch and Sandro Büttel. Fabio cycled 560km in 37 hours. All the riders are currently in the Jura. The Jura gets often under estimated and may offer harder climbs as the Alps.

We added two ghost riders to the map:
The first will finish in the time Christoph Fuhrbach needed in 2021 on a different route. A bit longer and a little more climbing. The second will finish in the time Aleš Vaníček needed last year on the exact same route. The two ghost riders don’t stop, they continously keep going until the finish.

The Swiss BikeAdventure 2024 kicks off on July 27th in Andermatt. Some of the major mountain passes are still closed, but the final climb on the route, Gotthard Pass, opened last week, and there’s still plenty of snow! However, the famous Tremola with its 24 switchbacks is still covered in snow.

Last year, there was an exciting showdown on this climb between Aleš Vaníček and Bert Vohn. In the Tremola, Bert was only two switchbacks behind Aleš. While Bert couldn’t see Aleš, Aleš could see Bert from above. In the end, Bert arrived just 15 minutes after Aleš at the finish in Andermatt.

The SBA 2024 route will again commence with the ascent of Furka Pass on July 27th from Andermatt.

Spanning 1300km with a 24000-meter elevation gain, the course will guide riders through iconic cols, serene backroads, breathtaking views, picturesque lakes, delectable cuisine, diverse culture, and – no checkpoints.

The starting point also serves as the finishing point. It’s simply cycling in paradise.
